What is Plagiarism? 

Plagiarism is using other peoples words, ideas and materials without properly acknowledging the creator.

Plagiarism can happen by accident (unintentional plagiarism) or could be a result of deliberate cheating (intentional plagiarism).

Plagiarism includes:

  • Directly quoting, summarising or paraphrasing someone else's words or work without acknowledging them
  • Copying or buying an essay and submitting it as your own work (contract cheating)
  • Submitting another students' research and work as your own.
